- Walking Strong Kennel -

The people behind the kennel are Beate and Anders. Together with our son, Daniel, we wish to keep a smal breeding of Staffordshire Bull Terriers. We are located in Norway, in a small area called Hvittingfoss. Here we live in calm and quiet surroundings, but still close to the dog events we participate in. We’re active members of the Norwegian Weight Pull Club, and a few times a week we also meet up with some of the members (Team R.A.F) to train obedience. One of the most important things we look for in a dog is just that, the ability and will to work. We also enjoy lots of other activities with our dogs, like dog shows.
Our common interests in dogs started with our first dog, the Rottweiler Odin. Before that Anders was the one who had experience with owning a dog, more exact a Labrador retriever. When Odin joined our family in 2006, he soon became the best thing that ever had happend to us. Unfortunately he was put to sleep because of illness in October 2008 – just 2 years and 3 months old. He is still missed by our family and friends.
Our first staffie came into our lives in the summer of 2008, after a year of waiting patiently. Kira has shown herself to be quite an energic staffie. Her will to work hard and learn, as well as her courage is something we appreciated, and inspired us to find out more about her race – the Staffie. She’s the perfect size – the staffie is the typical ”big dog in small format”. The staff also acts phenomenal amongst children, witch is why the race also is known as the ”nanny dog” in England. A well-trained staffie will do everything to please the people around – not exactly the ideal guard dog.
Walking Strong Kennel was established in 2009, and we got the kennel name approved by the FCI February 2010. We wish, as said, to keep our breeding limited, much to ensure good physical and psychological health. You could say we want a little bit of both: staffs with the will to work, and does a fair job inn exhibition, we call it "Body&Mind". We are also occupied by extracting our knowledge about the rase and about dogs in general. The fact that you’ll never know enough about the subject ”dog” is exiting – there’s always something to learn.
Beate has completed NKKs breeding school course 1; genetics & inheritance. Course 2; Breeding, is due 2012/13
We hope you enjoy our website, and that you also feel free to leave a message in the guestbook before you leave!
Best reagards
